Politecna Europa together with studio SPIBS has realized the executive project of the new research laboratories of the Departments of the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering of the Sapienza University of Rome. The intervention specifically concerns the re-functionalization, recovery and compliance of the “C10 (Roma Tiburtina)”, an industrial building currently in disuse, with an area of about 2,500 square meters and an area of almost 4,000 square meters.
The project aims to reactivate the space and optimize the energy performance and architectural quality of the complex. An accurate design of the green areas and the shared environments will favor sociality and sharing for the academic community hosted. In addition, the integration of smart solutions will allow to adopt sustainable approaches and habits, with an overall improvement in the quality and liveability of environments. The project contributes to the regeneration of the Tiburtina station area, Rome’s second railway station in terms of size and number of services, and represents a new element that aims to transform it into the true hub of innovation in the capital.
