It is one of the highest levels set by the international certification system developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), which qualifies and classifies the eco-sustainability of buildings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Among the most important elements in the evaluation of the Politecna project, the interdisciplinary approach adopted in an integrative process, which made it possible to meet ambitious requirements, such as attention to the density and diversity of uses, the sustainable development of the site, the optimization of energy efficiency, indoor water saving, comfort and environmental quality.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Located on the crest of the Scotte hill, north of the city of Siena, the new university structure of about 9,000 square meters will host the academic community for a total of about 1,700 people. It consists of four blocks, connected to each other by an agora, the heart of the space and its symbolic value for the university and scientific community. Externally, the blocks are connected by paths created in harmony with the hilly landscape and integrated from a visual and functional point of view through green and practicable roofs.
